Anticipation

How does it feel when you are doing nothing but waiting? Awful, anxious, maybe even annoyed? Now, add to that some sort of expectation: an exam result, or someone's health diagnosis. The poet attempts to add some expression to these feelings, which can be complex and not so easy to decipher.

How does the wait feel?
The longing of impending doom
Just to get it over with.
An emotionally charged phase
With incentives to burn your thoughts away.

In the wisps, rises their woe
The melted wax, a puddle of grim
Holding on to crumbs, sustained by the wick.
And what of the soot? That got settled behind
Littered all over a slate, that once was kind.

The flame tricked us, with false solace
Only to leave behind,
A mess that continues to unwind.
We sit, pondering with grace
The way the anguish leaves us
Scattered all over the place.

If you ever see a person following a cat into a dingy place thats Aadhya. Half of her personality is inspired from a cat and the other is that of a stone. She likes to write heavy poetry as a way of expression and communicates using stickers. She's curious and stressed, so if you ever find her with a dramatic expression on her face - its probably one of the two. She plays basketball, bakes desserts and reads a bit for her "me" time.
